usability of the worksafe online manual and the toolbox
The main target group of the WorkSafe Online Manual and Toolbox are VET providers, teachers, Employers and work mentors within the metal work and construction. The materials have been developed in collaboration with the international coordinators, teachers, employers and work mentors. However, the content of the materials and tools in the manual and the toolbox is built in a way that it can be used by others and amended so that it fits the needs of e.g. different VET fields and the rules and regulations in different countries
Here are a few suggestions on how the WorkSafe Online Manual and WorkSafe Toolbox can be used by different stakeholders interested to provide students with qualitative and safe learning experiences during Work Based Learning (WBL):
- Select the parts of the manual and the toolbox that you feel are needed in order to provide and make it into a booklet that you provide students, work mentors and employers so that can use it to learn more about providing safe learning experiences during WBL
- Implemented as part of the health and education training, safety lessons and a part of the mentoring that students receive prior to taking part in WBL.
- It can be used to raise awareness of work safety during WBL among the stakeholders
- It can be used when preparing students taking part in international mobilities
- It can be used to inform teachers, employers and work mentors about how to improve safety during mobilities
- Raise awareness that even if we think that we know a lot about work safety we can always become better at providing students with safe learning experiences
- Improve communication and collaboration between VET and work regarding Work Safety
- The checklists can be used as they are or adapted so that it fits the needs of VET providers, teachers, employers, work mentors and other stakeholders.
